Shouldn't 44 people be spamming me with hate notes or something like that? Hmm.. That's weird... I thought people would care.. But looks like I'm wrong... Nobody came. And nobody cares. (I'm not talkin' bout myself. I'm talking about someone else)
To all the users who wrongly accused Izzy-Ortiz, I have seen the entire "conversation" between both sides, and the only people in the wrong are the people who are calling her a thief. There are many reasons why but the first one I'd like to begin with is that your replies and actions are no better than what online users dislike the most; cyber bullies. What you said was not only false, but like bullies, decide to target one artist who was simply inspired by another artist to do their style. Inspiration comes in many forms, this happens to be one of them, but as long as they are not claiming the other artists original art, it is not classified as theft. You were very much in the wrong for making false claims in order to make them look bad, but you made it worse when others, who did not fully understand the situation, ganged up on her and just added more unnecessary fire. And might I add that this entire argument, though very long, was in all childish and immature, nearly all replies made everything worse. Secondly, tracing and stealing are very different, and there is a gap that separates them. Like I said before, as long as she doesn't claim the other person's art, than it is not stealing.
Besides, who said that tracing was not allowed. If it were some crime, millions would be in jail, it isn't illegal. And it is untrue about tracing and recolouring being a part of art theft, just as long as they don't claim the art. Thirdly, you have absolutely no right to criticize and falsely defend the person in the wrong. You are being admirable for the wrong reason, and the criticism against the old art was highly unnecessary. And it was like she said, if you do not appreciate it, do not comment, it is always best to keep opinions that will cause problems to yourself, in fact, it is the very philosophy that is ignored time and time again . All that leads to drama. And about the reply that said "don't you dare insult me", really, she was not, she was stating a fact. Your arguments lacked common sense, and was built on false accusations and lies. People in general are inspired by others, which leads to the use of bases and drawing in other styles. Heck, even famous artists were inspired by others, some adapting their style to match the other. Only a person who didn't understand true art or were a real artist would say otherwise like you did.
And by the way, this isn't about what you think, it's about understanding inspiration, in this case you all truly don't. All of you acted like hypocrites, for pointing an unimportant factor like tracing and to make it sound like a crime, and yet you do the exact same thing, some of you not having anything to call art. Yes, admit ably she was in the wrong for using inappropriate language towards you, but how would you feel if you drew a piece of art inspired by another artist, then have it criticized, then called a thief afterwords. Not happy, and by no means willing to give any sort of respect towards the accuser. Her methods were wrong, but her intent was right. The only ones making a big deal out of it are the accusers. And if you thought she was a good person, you would not be calling her a thief in the first place. And you are right, you can draw whatever you want, so can she, but I guarantee she will not be giving these false accusations like you are. She wasn't lying, you were the liars.
Inspiration does have many meanings, depending on the people. You obviously have your own meaning, but in all, it is when you are interested, or sparked to make something of similar design. She was right, and as a fellow artist, I absolutely agree. Your actions made a problem where there was none and that is very thing that causes problems, if you were to understand that, you wouldn't have done it in the first place. You do not speak for pole bear, if they have a problem, they can address it themselves, it is not you place to speak for them. If it is anyone you should be speaking to, it should be me. I am the one who introduced her to the art, I am the one who helped create the idea, and I saw her make it with my own eyes. You would not know because you were not there, but you must understand that MY sister is no thief, never has or be one. I do not expect you to believe me, but the only reason I am correcting you is so that I can put a stop to it, to prevent you from making other artists victims of your cyberbullying, and so that you can understand. True art is made to inspire
Hello, would you happen to be the same person who falsely accused Izzy-Ortiz of art theft?
They did the same to me....
So you know form experience.  Sadly, Izzy took the picture down feeling forced to do so, but what they did has not left her.  Personally, I think she should have kept it, but it was her choice nonetheless.  All I can say is if this ever happens again, with the same people who accuse others of art theft, I will be the first one to correct them again.
Yep. I was so confused when I got the notification, to be honest. I thought
it might have been a mistake until I saw your comment and that left me suspicious.
I checked out Izzy's art and I really like it! But yeah.. it's really rude of them to do that
really.
